The main impacts of climate change on forests

This module will present the main environmental and socio-economic impacts on forests resulting from the five main climate hazards considered by the ResAlliance project. These hazards, which include fires, droughts, pests and diseases, floods and desertification, are threatening the stability and resilience of Mediterranean forest ecosystems.

Experiences from the Resilience LandLabs and Focal Points: climate change impacts and solutions from the forestry sector

To facilitate knowledge transfer and implementation of solutions to support landscape resilience, the ResAlliance project supported the development of specific LandLabs and Focal Points in specific areas of the Mediterranean basin particularly vulnerable to climate change risks. In this module, the coordinators of the LandLabs (ResAlliance Ambassadors) and the contact persons of the Focal Points will describe the impacts of climate hazards on the forest areas of their regions and will present some innovative solutions from the forestry sector that can contribute to make landscapes more resilient to climate change.
